Charlottesville, VA "Gaudreau, Klein open in style" June 19, 2008 Get ready for the 2:10 Train to pull into Charlottesville. Jimmy Gaudreau and Moondi Klein will be teaming up to open Monday’s show at the Pav with some polished bluegrass. Guitarist Klein and mandolinist Gaudreau performed together in the supergroup Chesapeake with Klein’s Seldom Scene colleagues Mike Auldridge and T. Michael Coleman. Gaudreau performed in the Country Gentlemen, and recently he joined forces with Randy Waller, Tom Gray and Scottsville’s own Eddie Adcock to form the Country Gentlemen Reunion Band. He also performed with Adcock in IInd Generation, with Bela Fleck in Spectrum and in the Tony Rice Unit, Country Store with Keith Whitley and J.D. Crowe and the New South. Klein helped form the band Rock Creek and later replaced singer John Starling in the Seldom Scene. After Chesapeake disbanded in the late 1990s, Gaudreau and Klein performed in a few casual shows together for fun, not expecting a duo project to take off. While planning a vacation in England in 2007, Gaudreau and Klein booked a few shows there and decided to throw together a recording to sell at the events. The result was “2:10 Train,’’ a well-received bluegrass and folk collection. |
